Braces We carry out most orthodontic treatment 'in-house' at Kelvin House Dental Practice. Different types of brace There are 4 main types of brace. Removable This type of plastic brace has wires and springs that can do simple movements of teeth. It is worn full time but can be taken out for cleaning. ![]() Functional This is like an upper and lower removable appliance stuck together or in two parts. It uses muscle forces to modify the position of the teeth and, to a small extend, may even effect the way in which the jaw grows. ![]() Fixed These have bands and brackets that are temporarily stuck to the teeth, and are able to guide the teeth more accurately into the correct position.
Inman Aligner This special type of removable brace uses high-technology springs to treat crooked upper or lower front teeth in adults and older teenagers. It can straighten teeth in as little as 6 weeks
